On Leap Day, Monday, February 29, 2016, the Winona Health Auxiliary celebrated their long history and took a leap into the future with a new name and a new look. The organization’s official name is now Winona Health Volunteers and they’ve retired the iconic pink smocks and adopted a vest in Winona Health’s signature blue.
“We’ve not only changed our name and refreshed our look, but we’ve also added new service areas, developed new fundraisers and updated our organizational structure,” says Kim Schwab, Winona Health Volunteers president.
“Winona Health is a forward-thinking organization and, as a strong group of volunteers, we’ve had many discussions about what the future could look like for our group,” says Schwab. “We’re excited about taking this leap into the future with new volunteer opportunities and a new look as we carry on our tradition of caring, serving and giving – the principles we stand for are timeless.”
The Winona Health Auxiliary was founded in 1894 with 50 members dedicated to supporting local healthcare. Today, there are nearly 400 volunteers serving in more than 30 service areas.
